Mayapur

Mayapur is a holy city which is located on the banks of the Ganges River near Navadvip, 130 km north of Kolkata. It is also the birthplace of Chaitanya Mahaprabhu who is the founder of the Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition of Hinduism. The headquarters of ISKCON is situated in Mayapur and it is considered to be a holy place visited by millions of pilgrims annually. This holy city is home to many temples and shrines dedicated to Chaitanya Mahaprabhu. It also includes many schools and colleges that teach Gaudiya Vaishnava philosophy. Mayapur is a vibrant cultural centre that hosts many festivals and events throughout the year. The most famous temple in Mayapur is the Mayapur Chandrodaya Mandir which is still under construction it is dedicated to Radha and Krishna, the divine couple to Gaudiya Vaishnavism.

By Train:

You can take a train from Durgapur Railway Station to Barddhaman Station which will take around 1 hour 35 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes to reach.

By Bus:

There are also many buses available from the Durgapur bus stand to the Nabadwip bus stand which will take around 4-5 hours depending on traffic.

By Car:

You can also book a car to reach Mayapur for a comfortable journey along with the viewing of scenic beauty on the way.
